The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has rejoiced with the people of the state over the international recognition of intellectual and scholastic contributions of Prof. Abdulrazaq Abdulmajeed Alaro.
Alaro was recognized by the authority of International Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
This is contained in a goodwill message issued on Saturday in Ilorin by the Emir’s Spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.
Sulu-Gambari appreciated the award of ‘most intellectual impact’ won by the don.
The first class traditional ruler commended the outstanding contributions of Alaro in the propagation of Islam as well as mentoring younger generations to the path.
“The scholar is doing his best in teaching children and youths in depth understanding of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through his enviable qualities of Islamic law and intellectual prowess,” he said.
The Emir noted that the award was a great honor to the entire people of Ilorin Emirate, government and people of the state, as well as Nigerians.
Sulu-Gambari however urged the scholar not to relent in his effort of promoting morality, peace and harmony in the society.
He also rejoiced with the authority of the University of Ilorin for sustaining the sanctity of research and scholarship among its students and academic staff.
