Emenike’s choice of ‘Hammers’ influenced by Bilic

Emmanuel Emenike picked West Ham United ahead of other EPL suitors West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace because he knows ‘The Hammers’ boss, Slaven Bilic.
Bilic has been an admirer of the AFCON 2013 top scorer during his days as Besiktas coach.
West Brom and Crystal Palace showed interest in having the Fenerbahce star on loan till the end of the season after his romance with Al Ain of Dubai ended this year.

“West Brom almost beat West Ham to Emenike’s signature, they came with a tempting offer, but Emenike preferred West Ham because the coach has been speaking with him for a long time and they were familiar with each other right from Turkey,” a source close to the player said.

“His joining West Ham was not all about money, in fact other EPL suitors would have paid him more, he was well briefed about West Ham’s culture and style which suits him.”

Emenike made his official debut for West Ham in a 1-0 loss to Southampton last weekend.
