The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Edo State Chapter has inaugurated a New executive to coordinate its affairs within the next two years.
The Public Relation’s Executive of NIPR, Temi Esonamunjor, said this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.
The election took place during the 2022 AGM/Conference of the Chapter held at the Urban Oasis Hotel in Benin City.
The statement said the conference had as its theme, “Leading with Purpose: Inspiring Change and Innovation in Public Relations.”
According to the statement, the newly elected executive members were inaugurated by Dr Olugbenga Abimbola, an NIPR Council Member.
“Mr James-Wisdom Abhulimen was elected as Chairman, Okon Eyo, Vice Chairman, Courage Eboigbe, Secretary, Esonamunjor, Public Relations Executive, Dr Ngozi Okeibunor, Financial Secretary, Ude Chukwuulotam, Treasurer and Dr Josephine Adeyeye as Auditor,” it said.
The statement said the president elect, in his acceptance speech, acknowledged the overwhelming support of members that paved the way for his victory at the polls.
Abhulimen promised to work assiduously with the new executive to consolidate on the achievements of past leaders of the chapter and propel the Institute to a greater height in the state.
The president also extended a hand of fellowship to his co-contestants and pledged to rekindle the chapter and make it a force to be reckoned with.
Abhulimen said “I will ensure this through strategic communication, networking and collaboration with critical stakeholders.
The statement quoted Mr Daniel Ekhereafo who heads the Mass Communications Department of the University of Benin, say saying “achieving success in Public Relations required inspirational and innovative leadership.
“Capable of driving positive changes, fostering meaningful connections, and steering organizations towards goal attainment.”
He enjoined the new leadership to leverage on technology, data and social responsibility initiatives.
“I urge yoy to enhance the reputation of the state’s Institute, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and drive transformative changes in the public relations landscape.
“As the world continues to evolve, the influence of inspirational and innovative leaders will remain central to the success of public relations in creating positive and lasting impacts, ” he said.
