After beating the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia 2-1 at the weekend in Addis Ababa, the Super Eagles set an African record playing in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
With the 2-1 victory over Ethiopia, the Nigerian team have set a new African record of going unbeaten in 27 World Cup qualifying matches.
The last time Nigeria tasted defeated in a World Cup qualifier was as far back as 2004, when they lost to Angola in Luanda.
Since then, Nigeria have won eighteen and drawn nine of their last 27 World Cup qualifying games, setting an African record, that is also the seventh best ever run in the World.
