Co-captain of the national male basketball team, D’Tigers, Ike Diogu has, on behalf of his colleagues, thrown his weight behind their female compatriots, D’Tigress as they campaign in the 2015 Afrobasket Championship in Cameroun.
Diogu, who was an inspiration to his colleagues at the Afrobasket in Tunisia from the bench as he was sidelined by a calf muscle injury, in a message to D’Tigress through the Nigeria Basketball Federation, said they are all waiting to celebrate with the ladies the Rio Olympic ticket they are gunning for in Cameroun.
In a one-paragraph message, Diogu wrote: “On behalf of the senior men’s national team, we want to wish the D’Tigress good luck and we fully, God willing, expect to celebrate with them as they clinch a spot in next summer Olympics.”
