The clerics gave the advice during a sensitisation organised for Kebbi pilgrims, on Sunday in Medina preparatory to their take-off to Mecca.
The programme was organised by the 2024 Hajj Da’awah Committee under the Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Speaking during the exercise, the Sarkin Malaman Kabi, Alhaji Auwalu Danjuma, identified patience as one of the best attitudes that would not only fetch a reward but foster unity among the Muslim Ummah.
He, therefore, urged the pilgrims to be patient, disciplined and assist each other in tines of need.
The cleric advised them to be cautious while taking bath to put on Ihram at Miqati so that thieves would take advantage of their innocence to cheat them.
The Sarkin Malamai admonished the pilgrims not to keep their money and cell phones in their hotel rooms in order not to fall victims of thieves.
In his submission, Malam Muhammad Sanusi-Argungu, urged the pilgrims to be law-abiding and maintain a high sense of decorum while in the holy land.
Sanusi-Argungu advised them to be supportive to one another “especially those who are weak in terms of Islamic or Hajj knowledge.”
He encouraged the pilgrims to be moving in groups for easy identification especially in Mecca.
Demonstrating how to perform Umrah, another cleric, Malam Shehu Mashama-Zauro encouraged the pilgrims to be attentive as learning the rites practically would enhance their understanding of how to perform the entire pilgrimage.
The cleric reminded them on the need to know the obligatory aspects of Umrah and how to perform it correctly, saying, ”there is no reason to pay huge amount of money in vein.”
The pilgrims transported to Medina in the second flight were billed to move to Mecca on Monday.
While there, they will perform the lesser Hajj (Umrah) and wait till the 8th day of Zul-Hijja to commence the Hajj proper.
