The Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS), Kwara Chapter, has organized competition for 20 schools to mark this year’s Children’s Day celebration and make the children feel the happy mood.

The state Chairman of the association, Alhaji Tahjudeen Bolaji, explained that both primary and secondary school students participated in the competition, according to category of learners.

“We have two locations in Kwara; one in Ilorin and the other in Offa Local Government Area, for the convenience of the schools under the association to participate in the competition and celebration.

“Twenty schools participated in the competition, which includes March pass, Qur’anic competition and Game,” he said.

The chairman noted that the association was well positioned to contribute maximally to the education industry, assuring the interest of Muslim children education will never be left behind.

Bolaji emphasized the importance of child education, saying the World Conference on Child Welfare in Geneva, Moscow, had declared June 1 as International Day for the Protection of Children across the globe.

He appreciated the entire personalities, super learners and members of the association for making the celebration a successful outing.

The international holiday was first established in Nigeria in 1964, and it aimed at raising awareness of issues that affect children and reminding the society that children are the future leaders.

The first position in Qur’an competition goes to Al-Nur Islamic College, Al-Ikhlas Schools emerged second while the third position went to Al-Furqan Schools.

During the March pass, Al-Nur Islamic College also took the first position, while Al-Furqan emerged second and Al-Ikhlas schools carried the third position.

Nana Hajara schools took first position in Games, Fortune schools took the second position while the third position was won by Ya-Salam International school.
