Catholic Bishop tasks Nigerians on righteousness, sincerity

The Catholic Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Dr David Ajang, has admonished Christians to channel their resources, energy and time in propagating the gospel and living a righteous lives as death is inevitable.
Ajang gave the advice while presiding at the burial of two members of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Lafia on Tuesday.
On July 20th, two members of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Lafia died in a motor accident on their way from a church program.
They are the former Director of Finance and Supplies at the Ministry of Local Government, Mr Thomas Adanu,  and Mrs Blessing Dangana, wife to the Deputy Director at the office of the Clerk in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Joseph Ogbole.
The bishop, while presiding over the funeral mass, said that death is inevitable, hence the need for Christians to live righteous lives at all times.
 Ajang also urged Nigerians to live examplary lives while alive in order to inherit the kingdom of God and for societal development.
“I want to urge all of us to live an exemplary and righteous lives in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
“I also urge Christians to channel their resources, energy and time in propagating the gospel and living righteous lives as death is inevitable,” he said.
The bishop urged the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss, and prayed God to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest.
The former Majority Leader at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Tanko Tunga, called on the families of the deceased to be strong.
Tunga urged them to bear the irreparable loss and prayed for the repose of their souls.
Responding, the husband to late Blessing, Mr Joseph Dangana Ogbole, said he had lost a companion.
He prayed God to forgive her shortcoming and grant her eternal rest.
“May the soul of my wife rest in peace with the Lord,” the husband said.
The remains of Adanu, aged 63, and the father of nine was taken to his hometown, Agbashi, in Ekye Development Area, while that of Blessing, aged 43, and a mother of seven, was committed to mother earth at the family compound in Lafia.
