Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is well and will return to Nigeria on Sunday to resume work on Monday.

Osinbajo said this in Abuja on Thursday while speaking with State House correspondents shortly before presiding over the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

“The President will be back on Sunday. I spoke with him yesterday evening and I think it is just the best that he takes the weekend off. He will certainly be back on Sunday.’’

The vice-president added that there was no point for his rushing back since the weekend was close by as the President needed to take the weekend off and resume work on Monday.

Asked about the condition of health of the President, Osinbajo confirmed that Buhari had fully recovered.

“He is in perfect health and ready to resume work on Monday morning. I think that is the appropriate thing. Mr President is in good condition, he is fine, and he is very well.

“He should take a day or two off in London and rest a bit and come back hale and hearty on Sunday and be ready for work on Monday. So, we expect him back on Sunday.’’

The President had informed the National Assembly of his medical condition and asked for 10 days off to attend to an ear infection in London.
