President Muhammad Buhari arrived in Daura about 5:20 p.m. on Thursday in an Air Force helicopter marked NAF -540 amidst cheers from supporters.
The president landed at the Daura helipad in company of his aides and close family members.
Among his aides were Mr Bashir Kankiya, Chief Security Officer to the President; Alhaji Lawal Kazaure, the Chief Protocol Officer to the President and Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.
Buhari is in Daura to commiserate with members of his immediate family over the death of two of his sisters.
The president was received by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, and thousands of well wishers.
Hajiya Aisha Mamman, wife of the President’s elder brother and Hajia Halima Dauda, the President’s niece and younger sister to his close associate, died recently.
The presidential aircraft carrying the president and some members of his encourage had earlier landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport about 4.40p.m.
The President, who was welcomed at the airport by Governor Aminu Masari and a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers, boarded the presidential helicopter that conveyed him to Daura.
