Benue South: David Mark wins with 84,192, Onjeh 71,621

Former Senate President, David Mark, returned to the Upper Chamber after Saturday’s rerun election in Benue South District.
Mark, who has been in the Senate since 1999, contested the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defeated his All Progressives Congress (APC) challenger, Daniel Onjeh, with 84,192 votes.
Onjeh polled 71,621.
The Returning Officer, Benue South Senetorial Rerun Election, Prof. Ishaq Shaibu Eneji, declared Mark as the winner on Sunday morning.
Breakdown of the results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) saw Mark winning in five of the nine local governments in the district.
Onjeh won in four.
