Barcelona are back at the summit of La Liga, with nine points after hammering Leganes 5-1 on Saturday.
The scoreline gave the Catalans a goal advantage, after four matches over rivals Real Madrid who will play their fourth match on Sunday against Espanyol. Madrid may be back in the lead on Sunday if they beat Espanyol.
Lionel Messi, coming from a hat trick against Celtic in the Champions League on Tuesday, opened scoring in the 15th minute after receiving a Luis Suarez cross.
Luis Suarez was to benefit from a Messi assist in the 31st minute to tap the ball into the net for the second goal.
Some 13 minutes after, Suarez assisted Neymar Junior, with a pass inside the box for another tap in.
The champions had a 3-0 goal advantage in the first half and were not seriously threatened by their hosts, with 56 percent ball possession and an overall of 60 per cent.
In the second half, Messi scored again 10 minutes after resumption, from the penalty spot, after a foul on Neymar inside the Leganes box.

Rafinha added a fifth goal in the 64th minute.

The hosts however recorded a consolation goal in the 80th minute, via a direct free kick taken by Gabriel.

The match at Leganes even though it ended 5-1, was a low performance for Barcelona, having routed Celtic 7-0 on Tuesday in the Champions League.
