Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, has assured of his commitment to consolidate on his administration’s industrialisation drive by ensuring full crystalization in 2018 of ongoing developmental projects across the state.

Ayade who spoke in his New Year message signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Ita, also said there will be increased momentum on the construction work on the Bakassi Deep Seaport and the 274-kilometre Calabar-Bekwarra-Katsina-Ala Super Highway in 2018.

Assuring that 2018 is a year ladden with hope, the governor said: “The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We will write that story by asking you to remain  hopeful as we will never waver or dither on our pursuit of fulfilment for our people.”

According to Ayade, “It is the time to be hopeful for the bounties that await us in 2018. For us, it is another new year to start stronger, and yet another opportunity to consolidate on everything we want to do this year.

“Accordingly, we intend to keep many  more of our people engaged this year by ensuring quick completion of ongoing construction work at the Calabar Pharmaceutical company (CalaPharm), the cocoa processing plant in Ikom, the banana plantation in Odukpani, the ultramodern rice processing plant in Ogoja.”

The governor also promised to ensure the timely completion of work on the Mbok-Yala-Bekwarra-Obudu Ranch dual carriageway and Boki East-West link road amongst other.

“We are resolved more than ever before, to exploit the opportunities hidden in the vast potentials of our state by making industrialisation and the people the priority of our administration.”

While thanking Cross Riverians for their sustained fidelity in his administration, Ayade further solicited: “Even as we renew our commitment to offering our sincere and dedicated service, we cannot but count on your continued support and faithfulness for us to realise our vision for our dear state.”
The governor particularly expressed his gratitude to the citizens for the  their massive participation in all the policies and programmes of his government, especially the just concluded Calabar Festival and Carnival Calabar.
