Archbishop Chukwuma charges youths to live like Christ, be prayerful

Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese, (Anglican Communion) , Most Rev. Prof.Emmanuel Olisa Chukwuma, has charged youths in the country to dedicate their lives to God, live a responsible life and have Jesus in their lives.

He gave the charges on Tuesday when he addressed Christian Youths who were on a Three-Day Camp at the Church of Ressurrection Power, (Anglican Communion) New Haven, Enugu.

He told the youth that they should live Christ-like life, be prayerful and steadfast so that they could take over from the elders.

“You have to have Jesus in your life. Elders are going away and they will leave the church for you.On the day of judgement, your father will not speak for you. Each person will give an account of how he lived his life. God loves you. That’s why he brought you out of your mother’s womb.It will be a great thing of joy that you maintain your faith through prayers and fellowships. They will make you to be strong in journey to faith.

” Anywhere they see us, they must see the light of God in us.It’s the life we live that will show us as Christians.For us to retain our faith, we need to be steadfast and prayerful.”, Archbishop Chukwuma said
He urged the youths to forgive those who offended them and always say the truth, dress modestly, respect the elders ,say no to hard drugs, cultism and social vices .

“You don’t stretch your hands to shake an elder, rather it is the elder that should stretch his hand first. Leave here with a good character , leave here with a good spirit, always pray that goodness and mercy follow you with steadfastness’, the cleric said.

In his response, the coordinator of the event ,Dr. Emeka Ude thanked the Archbishop for the visit. He said that participants came from different churches. He said that they started the program eight years ago and were running the program voluntarily”We labour for young people”, Dr. Ude said . He described Archbishop Chukwuma as a fearless cleric ” defender of Christian faith.

According to him, the aim of the program is to bring the youths closer to God. The 3-Day camp started on Sunday and will end on Wednesday. He said that the youths came from different churches, under one umbrella and after their meeting on Wednesday they will go to Akpugo, missions. They go to their different churches, different villages and different schools to spread the word of God
He prayed that God will reward the Archbishop and for his labour will not be in vain.

Other coordinators of the event are Ven. Dr. Moses Omeke, Ven. Dr. Emeka Ezea(Nsukka Diocese)
,Ven. Dr Emeka Ezeji(Enugu), Ven. Ugwuagu ,Ven Arinze Egemba( Enugu Diocese).

The Archbishop made cash and food items donations to the group.
The camp is an annual event .
