Airtel Nigeria says it is partnering an application developer, Yuzah, to create a mobile application which its users could use through their cell phones to request for an instant delivery of diesel to their homes and offices.
This is contained in a statement by its Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Maurice Newa, in Lagos on Wednesday.

The statement said that the gesture was to enhance the lives of Nigerians through improved diesel delivery to them.

It said that the service, first of its kind in the country was also part of the country’s efforts to deliver products and services that would bring convenience to its customers.

“Airtel has collaborated with Yuzah, one of the winners of Airtel’s “Catapult-A-Startup’’ competition, to offer Nigerians this unique service which will further enhance their access to diesel.

“It will also address the inconveniences associated with the logistics involved in delivery,’’ he said.

The statement quoted Newa as urging users of its mobile cell phones to download the Yuzah application for them to enjoy the facility.

The statement also quoted Mr Ovo Emorhokpor, Chief Executive Officer, Yuzah.com, as saying that Yuzah was to create a seamless process of purchasing diesel.

It quoted Emorhokpor as saying that from the initial customer response, the service would be extremely useful to the larger population who would use the product.

“Airtel Nigeria will continue to show its growing support for entrepreneurship and innovation in Nigeria, and we believe we will have a successful partnership,” he said.
