Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has harmonized multiple taxes and levies collected by Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs) in the state across all business sectors into a single bill.
This is contained in a statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Thursday in Osogbo.
The harmonized bill, Rasheed said, would put all taxes and levies, which all formal and informal businesses were expected to pay on an annual basis, into a single document
He quoted Adeleke as saying that the initiative was informed by the need to put an end to the incessant challenges of multiple taxation faced by taxpayers in the state.
According to the governor, the single bill allows for easy and convenient payments that can  be in equal or unequal tranches.
“The  harmonized bill certificate will be issued automatically after completion of the payment.
“Businesses are enjoined to pay their taxes as early as they can as there may be fines or penalty for delayed payments.
“The official online  payment channels in the state is; https://pay.irs.os.gov.ng.
“Others are POS machines in tax stations across the state as well as banks in and outside Osun.
“ATM Machine across the country and use of any Money Transfer Service for those outside the country is acceptable by using the Pay with Transfer feature online on http://pay.irs.os.gov.ng“, he said.
Adeleke also said that the state government had deployed some Automation Systems for improved services delivery.
He said some of the automated systems included government assets and utility management system for renting and leasing of properties and assets as well as Certificate of Ownership in 45 days program.
”Others are Electronic Affidavit System, Electronic State of Origin and Local Government Area of Origin portal, Mobile Tax stations and Seamless online payment systems for taxes,” he said.
The governor also urged  members of the public to always ensure collection of evidence of payment in form of Government Automated Revenue Receipt for all payments made.
Adeleke said that anybody with challenges accessing the portal or generating payment receipt should visit any Osun Inland Revenue Service Tax Offices nearest to them for complaint or enquiry.
