Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has advised public office holders playing god to desist from the act because the country is bigger than anybody.

To the retired Naval officer, the only way the country could overcome its security challenges was for all stakeholders to see themselves as servants, and not leaders.

He also called on Nigerians to assist the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) with the needed intelligence in crime prevention “because at the end of the day, everybody will benefit if Nigeria is effectively policed”.

The governor spoke at the North East Geo-Political Zone Intelligence, Sensitisation and Community Partnership Workshop held at Silver Hotel, Yola, insisting that the security of the country should not be left with securitymen alone.

Represented by his deputy, James Bala Ngilari, Nyako maintained that the workshop organised by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, was timely in view of the present security challenges in the country, adding that for investors to come to the country, there must be paramount peace in all sectors of the economy.

“I therefore callefor total repentance by all, irrespective of religious differences while those in governance should pray and see themselves as servants and not masters

In his address, Abubakar, represented by a Deputy Inspector-General (DIG), Atiku Y. Kafur, explained that the workshop was hinged on the fact that “at no time in our national history have we ever needed to come together, partner and collaborate to bring the security challenges we face as a nation to a halt than now”.
