The Alliance for Democracy (AD) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Chief Olusola Oke, at the weekend, got the support of the people of the hilly city of Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of the Akoko North East local government area of State as they assured him of their support and that of the entire Akoko people during the November 26 election.

Indeed, at Igbede, Oke was forced by the mammoth crowd to mount the roof of the SUV conveying a gesture which threw the crowd into a frenzy as several people struggled to clasp Oke’s extended arms.
At the olukare’s palace, Oba Akadiri Momoh, the AD candidate expatiated on his policy plank and his rescue mission to rescue Ondo State people from the clutches of hunger and economic down turn.  In response, the royal father prayed for God’s guidance in his quest .

At the palace of the Owa Ale of Ikare, Oba Samuel kolapo Adegbite Adedoyin, the team had hectic time getting into the palace, as the heavy crowd barricaded the way with dance and praises.
Oke, in his speech, reiterated his earlier stand that Ondo State was in earnest need of rescue.
He mentioned the sad episode of the non completion of Alpha 3D, Ikare and several other moribund industries across all senatorial districts of the state. According to him, the revitalization of these corporations would have turned around the economic life of the people of those axis.
In his response, Oba Adedoyin thanked Oke and his party for picking their son Hon. Ganiyu Dauda as running mate.
He assured Oke that as a true son of Ikare, he would not disappoint him.

Speaking further, the Owa Ale lauded Oke saying :”You are a grassroots politician, and you are not a new hand in the politics of Ondo State.”
The Owa Ale, however, asked Oke to consider water project for Ikare land as a paramount project if elected.
He equally requested that The Adekunle Ajasin University needs a Faculty of Medical Sciences and that the hospital in Ikare be converted to a teaching hospital.

At the rally venue proper, the tumultuous crowd that had gathered as early as 8 am, were electrified on sighting Oke and his entourage.
Speaker after speaker extolled the virtue of Oke and sum up why he remains the best candidate to occupy Alagbaka Government House after the next election. Hundreds of members of both opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) defected to AD.
At a brief stopover at Ugbe Akoko, the Regent of Ugbe, Shabba Saruma, prayed for Oke and intoned: “Come 2017, you will be sworn-in as the next landlord of Alagbaka Government House”.
He, however, requested for a motorable road to link the bridge constructed by the government of Olusegun Mimiko in the town.
The campaign train snaked through the entire Akoko North local government area – from Ugbe through Iporopa to Ise, Auga and Akunu.
The campaign finally concluded its activities at Ikakumo, the boundary town with Edo State.
