Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has revealed that he asked Sir Alex Ferguson for the number 28 shirt at Manchester United.
Ronaldo, speaking at Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, admitted that he was petrified when given the task of taking on David Beckham’s number seven shirt.
Ronaldo, of course, joined the Old Trafford icons to wear the shirt and produced the goods throughout his six-year stint in Manchester.
The Portuguese superstar, of course, went on to help the Red Devils secure Champions League silverware and numerous Premier League titles.
But he’s admitted that the number seven shirt wasn’t on his agenda when he first moved to Manchester.
