The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ogun State chapter, on Tuesday, urged the Federal Government to provide improved infrastructure to boost the real sector.
Chairman of the chapter, Mr Wale Adegbite, made the plea in Ota.
He said improved infrastructure would reduce the cost of production for manufacturers.
Adegbite said availability of stable electricity, good roads and adequate security would also boost employment generation.
He added that such an environment would also improve the Gross Domestic Product as well as reduce crime rate in the country.
“The overhead cost for most manufacturers has gone up because of the increase in the cost of importing machineries and raw materials into the country,“ Adegbite also said.
He said the continuous rise in inflation rate had drastically affected the profit margin of manufacturers, adding that the development might lead to retrenchment of workers.
