Some members of the Kwankwasiyya Diaspora, comprising of followers of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in England, Scotland, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Canada and the United States (U.S.), have hailed his leadership as one capable of taking Nigeria to the next level of renewal and major accomplishments.
In a statement in London, the group as a collective said that having followed Kwankwaso’s style and ideals of leadership over a period of time, they were convinced beyond doubt that he meant well for Nigeria and will deliver on his current drive for a new order in the country.
“The next president must be one elected on merit”, they chorused in the statement.
While calling on Nigerians and indeed the delegates to the People’s Democratic Party Convention in October to vote en-masse for Kwankwaso, they contended that it was only through a new leadership truly dedicated to making “positive changes” that Nigeria can move forward and make desired progress as a nation.
The statement signed by Messrs Akin Williams, Jocelyn Odoh-Banye, Oladipupo Fadahunsi, Toyin Oni, Dare Bello, and Dr Tekena Fubara on behalf of the collective, noted the tremendous challenges facing the country especially that of security, poverty and poor infrastructure, adding that Senator Kwankwaso will be ready on Day One to tackle headlong, the multifaceted problems facing the country and should be supported to make the “positive changes” possible in Nigeria.
“Having followed Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s political journey, his style and ideals for a long period of time now, we leaders and members of the Kwankwasiyya in Diaspora, comprising our members in the aforementioned countries hereby proclaim and affirm his leadership astuteness, vision and fidelity as one that can truly take Nigeria to the next level of renewal and accomplishment in the major areas of our national life. From the challenge of insecurity to dismantling the frontiers of poverty to the acute shortage of infrastructure to reviving the ailing economy and making life really meaningful to the poor, we call on Nigerians especially the delegates to the PDP convention in October to see to it that they vote for a man who has the capacity and sense of responsibility to do the job rather than putting into sharp focus the usual Nigerian characteristics that hitherto influenced such election. Kwankwaso’s passion and uncommon drive towards excellence will a make a difference in our determination to break from the past and embrace the path of rectitude and possibilities. He’s a patriot. We also believe the Kwankwasiyya ideology will make all these possible by putting the people first under a just and trusted leadership”, the body stated.
