austin_ejideSuper Eagles second choice goalkeeper, Austin Ejide, who won the Nelson Mandela Challenge match against South Africa last week, is not concerned about the return of number one goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to the side.

Despite Ejide not being fully tested by Bafana strikers, one thing that stood out for him was his positioning as he was always on the right spot in their 2-0 win.

With the return of number one goalkeeper Enyeama, Ejide said he is just happy to be part of the squad and not concerned about other things.

“There are many players that make up a squad and I am glad that I am one of them. I am not really concerned about the return of Enyeama,” Ejide said.

“I think what is important for me is to stay focussed and give it my best shot, not for myself but for the entire team,” he said.

Speaking about their victory over Bafana, he said he is happy and felt good to win for Nelson Mandela.

“It felt good winning here, especially for Mandela as we all love and respect him a lot. Hard luck to Bafana,” he concluded.

Nigeria’s next match is in September against Malawi in the final group qualifying game for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
